Whitney Elizabeth Houston is the youngest of four children born in Newark NJ on the 9th of August in 1963. Her parents are gospel vocalists Cissy Houston, aka Emily Lee Drinkard - and John Russell Houston Jr. Whitney's cousin Dionne warwick was also an international singer.
